Participatory Design Workshop # 3

at Food Lifeline

In this final workshop of the quarter, students first listened to collaborators share what their priorities are, concerns, and aspirations for South Park in the context of justice, community, and circularity/circular economy. Providing intentional space for sharing out was essential for students to ground their work in the visions of community.

Students then presented the development of the projects to receive feedback directly from collaborators while also brainstorming, through sketches and other exercises, what might be missing from their designs. Collectively, the groups considered whether the ideas were clearly described; what elements could play a stronger role; how the projects and interventions aligned or misaligned with the collaborator’s understanding of justice, circularity, and community.
