Green Remediation (Lo) Technology:
A Design Manifesto For a Cleaner Future

Joe Minsky

We live in a world saturated with man-made chemicals and pollutants which have penetrated even
the most remote regions of our planet. This environmental degradation is particularly severe in urban
areas, where centuries of industrial activity and dense human population have created layered
contamination. The burden of this crisis falls disproportionately on communities who live in close
proximity to industrial areas and transportation corridors.

Green Remediation (Lo) Technology (GRT) harnesses the remarkable power of plants and their
associated microorganisms to target, capture, and neutralize environmental pollutants.

GRT democratizes environmental cleanup by dramatically reducing the cost while transforming
contaminated sites into vibrant green spaces for all living organisms.

GRT is implemented at scale across communities, industries, and governments. Brownfields and
contaminated sites transform into productive community spaces. Urban areas with integrated GRT
systems continuously purify the environment. Industrial facilities use living plant systems as standard
pollution control infrastructure. A global network of practitioners share knowledge and advance GRT
technologies, resulting in cleaner soil, water, and air for all, regardless of socioeconomic status.

The pollution crisis will not resolve itself. Even as we work to reduce new contamination, legacy
pollutants will continue to threaten ecosystems and communities for generations.

But there is hope. By embracing the regenerative power of plants, fungi, bacteria, and their microbial
partners, we can accelerate the healing of our planet. GRT offers a pathway that works with natural
processes rather than against them.
